The Polferries terminal for the Nynäshamn ferry is on Westerplatte, at ul. Mjr. Sucharskiego 70 in Gdańsk. A taxi to the Old Town costs about 60 PLN by day and 80 PLN at night, to Gdańsk Główny station about 70 PLN and to the airport about 100 PLN. The ride takes 15-20 minutes, and cards are accepted.
Where is the Gdańsk ferry terminal?
Ferries to and from Sweden use the Westerplatte Ferry Terminal (Terminal Promowy Westerplatte) on the east bank of the port channel, about 10 km by road from the Long Market. Polferries gives the address as ul. Mjr. Sucharskiego 70, 80-601 Gdańsk (polferries.com/contact, checked September 2026). Give this address to your driver.
Two common mix-ups:
- Older guides and forum threads still mention ul. Przemysłowa 1 in Nowy Port - the Polferries base until 2015, on the other side of the channel.
- Stena Line ferries to Karlskrona leave from Gdynia, from the terminal at ul. Polska 4 (stenalinetravel.com, checked September 2026). It is a different city and a different port.
The Polferries Gdańsk-Karlshamn line uses the same terminal, so everything below applies to it too.

Gdańsk-Nynäshamn timetable and check-in times
On the Polferries timetable for autumn 2026, the ferry leaves Gdańsk at 18:00 and reaches Nynäshamn at 12:00 the next day. The other way round it is the same, 18:00 from Nynäshamn and 12:00 into Gdańsk, on the ships Wawel and Nova Star. It does not sail daily: the September-December 2026 schedule skips most Sundays and pauses for several days over Christmas. Times do change, so check the current Gdańsk-Nynäshamn timetable (checked September 2026).
Check-in rules:
- check-in opens 120 minutes before departure,
- foot passengers must check in no later than 15 minutes before departure,
- passengers with a vehicle no later than 30 minutes before, electric vehicles no later than 120 minutes before.
Bring a passport or national ID card: you show it with your ticket to get a boarding card (Polferries general information, checked September 2026).
Our advice for foot passengers: be at the terminal 45-60 minutes before departure, around 17:00 for the 18:00 ferry. The taxi from a central hotel takes about 20 minutes; allow for the afternoon rush and book a 16:15-16:30 pickup.

A note on the airport: the fixed 99 PLN fare (120 PLN at night) on our airport taxi page covers central Gdańsk only. From the ferry terminal the meter runs: about 100 PLN by day.
Arriving on a Sunday? The ferry docks at midday, so the day rate normally applies. But we charge Sundays and Polish public holidays at the night rate around the clock. Leave Nynäshamn on a Saturday and you land in Gdańsk at 12:00 on Sunday, in the "night" column. More in night tariff in Gdańsk.
How to book a taxi for your ferry arrival
- Book ahead. Online bookings close 60 minutes before pickup, but the easy way is to book the day before, before you board in Nynäshamn. You see the price straight away.
- Leave a buffer. The ferry docks at 12:00 and getting off takes a while, so a 12:30 pickup is sensible.
- Say you are on the ferry. In the "Message to the driver" field, give the ship's name (Wawel or Nova Star) and your mobile number with the country code. If the ferry is late, call our dispatcher on +48 58 511 15 55.
- Lots of luggage? An estate car costs 20 PLN extra, and so does a pet. A minibus for 5-7 people can be booked online; an 8-seater by phone only.

Bus from the terminal to the city centre
The terminal has its own end-of-line stop, "Muzeum Westerplatte - Terminal Promowy". City buses 106 and 138 (ZTM Gdańsk) run from there to Plac Solidarności, passing the main station. From 1 October 2026 line 106 is cut back to Plac Solidarności and line 606 stops running (ztm.gda.pl, checked September 2026). With heavy bags or late at night, a taxi is easier.
