Sobieszewo Island is Gdańsk's only island district — between the Martwa Wisła and the Vistula Cut lie the Sobieszewo and Orle beaches and the Ptasi Raj and Mewia Łacha bird reserves. The island is reached over the 100-lecia bascule bridge, raised for passing boats — we factor the opening times into ride planning.

In summer we take beachgoers and resort guests right up to the beach entrances; off season we drive residents to Śródmieście and on everyday errands. It is Gdańsk's farthest corner, so order a dozen or so minutes ahead or book for a set time. The airport transfer runs via the Sucharskiego route and the ring road.
